Great Takeout: KBQ Real Barbecue

At KBQ Real Barbecue (12500 Fairwood Pkwy., Suite B1, Bowie; 301-352-8111) Kerry Britt has imbued the place with the flavor and soul of a country shack—it has the area’s best ’cue. The brisket and country sausage are standouts, and the pork ribs, if you catch them early in the day, are terrific, too—they’re $6.49 to $7.49 with one side, but they’re also available as platters and by the pound. Get the sweet, smoky baked beans ($1.99 for eight ounces) and save room for the tangy Key-lime pie ($2.59).
