Great Takeout: Pie Gourmet

Order a few days in advance and Pie Gourmet (507 Maple Ave. W., Vienna; 703-281-7437) will deliver quiche to your door. We like the creamy crab-and-mushroom, broccoli-and-cauliflower, spinach, and classic Lorraine. The shop is known for its savory pies as well—the Mexican with crushed tortilla chips embedded in the crust is our favorite. Call in the morning to pick up a quiche in the evening. Or you can take whatever is available. While there, check out the refrigerated case of ready-to-bake pasta dishes. Pies and quiches are $17.95 for an eight-inch (feeds five to six) and $23.95 for a ten-inch (feeds eight to ten); delivery charges are $5 to $17.
