Save Our Parties

The New York Times reported earlier this week that senators Dianne Feinstein and Bob Bennett are petitioning hard to reverse the DC Council ruling to allow bars to serve alcohol until 5 AM during the inauguration.

Now Washingtonians are speaking out. A petition encouraging mayor Adrian Fenty not to reverse the measure is making the rounds on the Web. A blog, Save The Parties, has been created to house the petition, which reads: "Mayor Fenty: The people voted overwhelmingly for change, and we want to celebrate that change big-time! Stand strong—don't back down on 5 a.m. bar closings during Inauguration week."
