Acadiana
Although this Louisiana-inspired restaurant will be closed for the national holiday, fans of Acadiana's savory southern flavors can enjoy a brunch special on July 5. The $32 three-course special comes with a complimentary Bloody Mary or Blood Orange Mimosa. Choices on the prix-fixe menu will include char-boiled oysters, fried green tomatoes, southern shrimp and grits, eggs benedict, French market beignets and pecan tart. Dinner will be the regular menu, well-known for its rémoulades, bisques and étouffées. Brunch is from 11 to 2; dinner is 5:30 to 9:30. Call 202-408-8848 for reservations.

Asia Nine
If you prefer your barbecue with an Asian-fusion twist, check out Asia Nine’s takeout special, which includes Thai barbecue chicken or Laos grilled steak plus two sides for $20. The Penn Quarter restaurant will also offer patriotic sushi and sake specials: The Independence and Firecracker rolls feature red-white-and-blue ingredients such as lobster salad, white tuna, blueberries, and spicy cherry sauce, and you can wash it down with red-and-white sake combos. The specials are available July 3 through 9. For reservations and barbecue preorders, call 202-629-4355.

Cashion’s Eat Place
This Adams Morgan dining room is celebrating the Fourth with a picnic and crab bake from 11:30 to 3:30—which leaves plenty of time to get a good spot for the fireworks. The restaurant is serving burgers ($16), brisket sandwiches ($16), and Maryland blue crabs (market price), each with a choice of two sides. You can also order $40 picnic baskets for two. Call 202-797-1819 for reservations or to preorder a picnic basket.

Charlie Palmer Steak
This swank Capitol Hill steakhouse is going whole hog for the holiday: Cooks will carve up a roasted whole suckling pig as part of an “upscale picnic” buffet. There’ll also be burgers and hot dogs, pasta and dessert stations, and a cotton-candy machine. The spread is $45 per person, served from 4 to 8:30. Call 202-547-8100 to make reservations.

DC Coast
In addition to its regular menu, DC Coast will also be dishing up a summery Fourth of July dinner special: crispy tempura soft-shell crab with basil, sweet corn, fingerling potatoes and applewood-smoked bacon, for $14.  Call 202-216-5988 for reservations.

The Gibson
This of-the-moment U Street bar is celebrating the Fourth early this year. Although it doesn’t typically serve anything more than cheese and charcuterie, on Thursday, July 2, you’ll find a roasted whole hog and cocktails such as gin rickeys and daiquiris. The menu will include burgers (grilled portobello mushrooms for vegetarians), potato salad, and corn. Also in store are “spiked watermelons”: whole watermelons split in half and doused with rum. Dinner, $75 per person, will run from 6 to midnight. Call 202-232-2156 between noon and 5 for reservations.

Indigo Landing
If you’re looking for a meal with a view, Indigo Landing will have an outdoor buffet on the banks of the Potomac—a prime spot for fireworks viewing. For $75 ($50 for children under age 12), fill up on barbecue, fried chicken, and seafood plus comfort-food sides such as corn on the cob and macaroni and cheese. There’ll be a complimentary Champagne toast when the fireworks start. The buffet runs from 5 to 10. Call 703-548-0001 for reservations.

Perry's
Another restaurant with a great rooftop view, this Adams Morgan spot specializes in sushi, but on the Fourth it'll be dishing up a different kind of seafood delicacy. If weather allows, there will be tapas-style plates of paella being served up on the roof for $7, as well as the regular menu and happy hour specials. Call 202-234-6218 for reservations.

Tabaq Bistro
This U Street tapas spot will serve a four-course, prix-fixe dinner ($95 per person) on its glassed-in rooftop terrace. Diners can select from several Mediterranean-inspired options for each course, which include dishes with crab, octopus, and Alaskan cod. There are also vegetarian options. Seatings are at 8 and 8:30. The rest of the restaurant will be open as usual and serving its regular menu. Call 202-265-0965 for reservations.

Ten Penh
This downtown Asian fusion joint is offering an especially valuable Fourth of July service: $7-dollar valet parking only a few blocks from the Mall. Diners are also welcome to wander over to the Mall's festivities after their meal and wait reclaim their cars until after the fireworks are over. Ten Penh is also serving up specials in its bar and lounge and outside on its patio from 3 PM to close. Appetizers such as lobster rangoons and duck confit spring rolls are half price, and select cocktails are $5, including tap beers and specialty drinks such as the Asian mojito and the lychee lemonade. Call 202-393-4500 for reservations.

2941
This elegant Falls Church restaurant will display two antique copies of the Declaration of Independence in the dining room while serving a three-course, prix fixe menu ($58 per person). Entrées include steamed black sea bass; rabbit à la Provençal; and beef rib eye. The à la carte menu will be available as well. You can dine with the Declaration of Independence starting at lunch on July 3 through July 5. On July 3, the restaurant will be open for lunch from 11:30 to 2 and dinner from 5 to 10; on July 4 and 5, from 11 to 8. Call 703-270-1500 for reservations.

Volt
This upscale Frederick eatery is known for its seasonal cooking with local ingredients. Volt's bringing this sensibility to a barbecue in its outdoor courtyard from 5-10 PM. The barbecue will feature a special a la carte menu full of seafood, picnic fare such as potato salad and jalapeno corn bread, and Volt's fine-dining take on comfort-food classics, including a smoked pork should sandwich, fried chicken, and chicken fried steak with caramelized red onion gravy. Reservations are recommended; call 301-696-8658.
