The Cupcake Cup: Bakeshop vs. Something Sweet

We're down to the Final Four of our cupcake competition. Vote to determine the best cupcake in Washington!

The March madness continues—and it's very sweet and very frosted. Here's the second face-off from the Final Four of our cupcake competition. A reminder: The two cupcake match ups will go until 10 AM (Georgetown Cupcake vs. Curbside) and 2 PM (Bakeshop vs. Something Sweet) tomorrow. Then we'll leave the voting for the final face-off open until next week so you have plenty of time to tell all of your friends to vote for the best cupcake in Washington.

Click below for this afternoon's match.

Bakeshop: For a long time, the only way you could get Bakeshop cupcakes was to swing by the (now defunct) Murky Coffee in Arlington or to order from the baker's Web site. Now, Bakeshop has its own store in Clarendon, and you can order everything from red velvet to cookies 'n' cream cupcakes with abandon.

Something Sweet: Meghan Blair recently opened Something Sweet bakery in DC’s Cleveland Park. You can get the basic cupcakes every day—chocolate, vanilla and red velvet with cream cheese frosting—but on different days of the week the bakery serves up special flavors like maltball, Oreo, or coconut/almond.

This poll will stay open until Tuesday at 2 PM.

*To help keep this contest fair, we’ve elected to use an IP address-based poll. This means that if you are voting from an office or network setting, not everybody will be able to vote. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we hope you’ll encourage coworkers to vote from their home computers.
