This sprawling convention hotel does not want for space. The 1,070-room tower is set back off of Connecticut Avenue. Guests who pull up into a circular driveway and enter through the lobby are greeted by a long line of check-in stations and lots of helpful concierges.
This Hilton is suited for large functions and events, with more than 100,000 square feet of function space and a 6,000-square-foot ballroom. For the everyday guest, though, there aren’t a lot of freebies. Only executive rooms get free Internet and breakfast.
As of early 2010, the hotel is undergoing extensive renovations that are scheduled to be done sometime in 2010. For now, the outdoor pool is closed, as is the fitness center and sections of the outdoor terrace.
