Right on Scott Circle, the Courtyard Marriott boasts a convenient location five blocks from the White House. It’s not considered a full-service hotel—there’s not a large amount of meeting space and staff is small—but repeat guests seem to appreciate that 90-percent of the staff is the same as the day the hotel opened 11 years ago. It’s relatively small, at 156 rooms; the lobby is quiet and intimate, with fireplaces, wood trim, bookshelves, French doors, and a coffee machine that makes lattes and mochas.
There is a perk for families: One of the room types sleeps up to five people. This room has two queen beds and a pull-out sofa. These rooms book up quickly on weekends.
The hotel is serviced by Nage, a French restaurant off the lobby. Nage does the hotel’s events as well as its room service.
Amenities include a work desk, two-line speakerphone, dataport, voicemail, 32-inch HDTV, cable TV and pay-per-view movies, iron/ironing board, in room coffee/tea, hairdryers, daily newspaper service, down comforters, small 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour market, and 24-hour business center. In-room dining provided by Nage restaurant.
