Monday: Imperial Bedrooms
Author Bret Easton Ellis stops by Politics and Prose at 7 to read from his latest novel, Imperial Bedrooms, a sequel of sorts to his best-selling debut, Less Than Zero. Free.

Tuesday: SilverDocs
SilverDocs, Washington’s annual documentary-film festival, kicks off at the AFI Silver Theatre with multiple screenings throughout the day. At 7, catch The Kids Grow Up, an examination of family dynamics; at 7:45, We Don’t Care About the Music Anyway . . ., about Japan’s alternative music scene; and Microcosmos, a closeup look at the world of insects, at 9:30. Wednesday: Kostume Karaoke
Dying to belt out some Phil Collins while sporting a sparkly blue wig and a pink tutu? Check out Kostume Karaoke, which takes over the upstairs area of Solly’s U Street Tavern the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. The fun starts at 8. Free.

Thursday: Free Drinks!
