Where & When: What to Do Tonight

Travel around the globe via photographs, and learn to be crafty

Take a trip to the Mediterranean without leaving Washington with Alexandria-based artist Pamela Viola’s FotoWeek show, “Eat, Pray, Sea” at Buzz. Her lovely photos of Greece and Turkey capture the beauty and diversity of the food, religion, and bodies of water in the region. Free.

Another opportunity to indulge your wanderlust is at the Embassy of Argentina’s (1600 New Hampshire Ave., NW) new exhibition of photographs by Diego Ortiz Mugica, which feature Argentina’s national parks. The exhibit is part of the country’s bicentennial celebration. The opening will have wine and music. 6 to 8:30; no RSVP necessary.

Hear funny lady Amy Sedaris discuss her latest book, Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People, at Sixth and I Historic Synagogue. She’ll give tips on fun and easy projects—think moccasins made out of crepe paper—and how to avoid common accidents. Buy tickets ($30) here; the price includes a copy of the book. 7 PM.
