One of the best reasons to drive to Frederick is the Blues BBQ truck—it's truly baffling that a motor vehicle can turn out some of the area's best barbecue, not to mention killer hush puppies with honey butter. But maybe you dig the wacky take on South American turnovers from the brand-new DC Empanadas truck? The owners respect tradition with a ground-beef option, but also look to cities in the U.S. for some regional inspiration (Philly cheesesteak, anyone?).
