Opened in March 2009, Ingleside at King Farm has three restaurants and a performing-arts theater.
The following assisted-living communities, opened in the last three years or opening soon, offer everything from ice-cream socials to art classes. Many also have services such as housekeeping, medication administration, and transportation. Prices vary with the level of care.
Bells Mill (Eden Homes Group)

This assisted-living facility, the newest in the Eden Homes Group of single-family houses, opened in March. Organized activities include gardening, art workshops, baking, and current-events discussions. The community also plans trips to plays, concerts, sporting events, and art exhibits. Accommodations, consisting of eight suites, range from $8,200 to $8,900 a month.
Ingleside at King Farm

This continuing-care retirement community opened in March 2009 with 43 studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms. Residents have access to a rehabilitation center, three restaurants, a performing-arts theater, a day spa and fitness center, and a heated swimming pool. There are also musical performances, exercise classes, visits with pets, and restaurant excursions. Prices are $6,086 to $9,841 a month.

This community of 33 apartments for Alzheimer’s and other dementia care opened in March; each floor has two communal fireplaces, kitchens, and dining rooms. Activities include dance classes, sing-alongs, and news discussion groups. Monthly rent ranges from $7,700 to $12,000.
Sunrise at Fox Hill Assisted Living and Memory Care

Opened in February 2009, this is part of a larger retirement community called Fox Hill Club & Residences. Sunrise at Fox Hill includes 83 studios, one-bedrooms, and suites ranging from $250 to $325 a day. Amenities include three dining rooms, a beauty salon and spa, several activity centers, a patio, and a computer lab with Skype. Residents can take part in a movie lover’s club, ice-cream socials, flower-arranging lessons, museum outings, and fitness classes.
The Village at Orchard Ridge

Now under construction, this continuing-care retirement community will include 127 apartments and 51 single-family homes. The development will have a chapel, a library, and walking paths, and there will be yoga classes, winetastings, art classes, and excursions. Entrance fees range from $153,900 to $480,000 for apartments and $305,700 to $551,200 for single-family homes; thereafter, residents pay $1,700 to $2,900 monthly. The first phase of homes is scheduled to open in spring 2013.
