This Sunday, December 18, Arlington Sport & Health Club will host a free Pose for Pink yoga class for breast cancer survivors and patients with the current Miss Sinergy, Lydia Hu.

Miss Sinergy is a woman empowerment program that aims to raise awareness for social causes. This year the program partnered with the Libby Ross Foundation, a nonprofit that assists those living with breast cancer.

The two-hour class will be led by Susan Martin, a certified Women Cancer Survivors instructor who is trained to teach yoga for cancer patients and survivors. While yoga is not a form of treatment for cancer, it has been proven to relieve some symptoms of chronic diseases like cancer and arthritis, according to the American Cancer Society.

A $10 donation is suggested and will go to the Libby Ross Breast Cancer Foundation. No reservations are required, and there will be yoga mats available. Family and friends are also encouraged to come.

The class will be held from 1 to 3 PM at 1122 Kirkwood Road, Arlington; 703-522-1702.
