Wing Wars: Churchkey vs. Stoney's

Who has the best wings in Washington? You decide.

Welcome to Wing Wars round two! We’ve narrowed the saucy contenders in our March Madness-style bracket down to 16, and every day on the Best Bites Blog, we’ll ask you to vote for which bars and restaurants should move on to round three. We’ll be posting two bouts a day throughout this round, so check back for updates. Voting will close at midnight of the day the posts are published.

So I know you’re probably dying to know which wings wound up in yesterday’s bone pile and which will fly on to the elite eight. The crowds came out to vote in the tussle between BonChon and William Jeffrey’s, but ultimately it was the Korean-based chicken chain that won the majority. Moving along with BonChon will be Duffy’s Irish Pub. Sorry, Dogfish Head, guess you’ll just have to console yourself with that James Beard award nomination.

Now it’s time to decide who will be entering round three alongside them. First up today is 14th Street beer bar Churchkey. The wings at this Neighborhood Restaurant Group favorite are up against those at nearby Stoney’s. This truly is anyone’s game, so be sure to vote for the wings you love more, and check back later for the last contest of the sweet 16.
