This week the US Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled 40,000 of the popular TRX Suspension Trainer fitness equipment, since the adjustment buckles can break and cause injury while in use.
The importer, Fitness Anywhere, has received 570 reports of the strap-length-adjustment buckles breaking while in use, causing 82 people to fall. Thirteen people suffered injuries to the head, face, shoulder, and hip as a result.This week the US Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled 40,000 of the popular TRX Suspension Trainer fitness equipment, since the adjustment buckles can break and cause injury while in use.
The specific recall is for the older model Professional (P1) and Tactical (T1) Suspension Trainers, which were manufactured between January 2006 and July 2007 and sold from January 2006 to December 2009.
TRX Suspension Trainers have grown in popularity in recent years, due to their mobility and versatility. The length of the hanging yellow and black straps can be adjusted, allowing users to perform a variety of exercises, including pushups, squats, bicep pullups, and more.
Anyone who has this model should immediately stop using the product and contact Fitness Anywhere to return the product. Users should receive an updated model once they send in their faulty unit.
