We asked local shopowners where they like to go.

Katherine Kallinis Berman, co-owner with
sister Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne of Georgetown Cupcake
(4834 Bethesda Ave.; 301-907-8900): “Sophie and I love
Drybar (4840 Bethesda Ave.; 240-483-4277). In 30 minutes,
you get the best blowout money can buy.”

Alli Webb, owner of Drybar: “I love to pop
into Ginger (7114 Bethesda La.; 301-664-9242)—I’ve found
great accessories there.”

Gretchen Hitchner, owner of Ginger: “My
favorite store is Bluemercury (7105 Bethesda La.;
301-986-0070). I always learn something new—like the need for eye-shadow
base—and I love trying out the samples.”

Marla Beck, cofounder of Bluemercury: “I love
to shop at Paper Source (4805 Bethesda Ave.;
301-215-9141) with the kids. We always find fun art projects, beautiful
journals, and birthday presents. Then we grab one of the green smoothies
at Purée Artisan Juice Bar (4903 Elm St.;
301-654-7873).

Amy Waldman, founder of Purée: “My getaway
spot lately has been Vino Volo (7243-7247 Woodmont Ave.;
301-656-0916). They have great wine flights.”

Tristan Kindy, general manager of Vino Volo:
“The salted-caramel gelato at Dolcezza(7111 Bethesda La.;
301-215-9226) is my favorite non-wine activity in Bethesda.”

Sarah Woods, manager of Dolcezza:
Secolari (7249 Woodmont Ave.; 301-652-7006) is a great
place to browse for gifts of olive oils.”

Jodi Madelon Callen, executive manager of
Secolari: “Rita’s Crepes (a kiosk at the corner of
Woodmont and Bethesda aves.) is one of my favorite stops. I also love to
browse the Montgomery Farm Women’s Cooperative Market
(7155 Wisconsin Ave.; 301-652-2291).”

Rhita Douglass, owner of Rita’s Crepes: “I’m
gluten-free, so Cava Mezze Grill (4832 Bethesda Ave.;
301-656-1772) is my go-to place for a snack.”
