Free Weekend Fitness Classes in Washington

From yoga on the Mall to CrossFit classes, there are tons of free events to check out.

Happy Friday! There are so many fitness events happening this weekend we had to share them all. Even better: Tons of them are free! The launch party of fitness company FitDC will be hosting lots of free classes, and other studios will be donating proceeds from their classes to certain organizations.

FRIDAY

Date Night at Bar Method 
If you and your significant other are out of date ideas, why not stay fit together for a good cause? Tonight Bar Method DC in Chinatown is hosting a date night to raise money for the National MS Society. 7:30 PM. $50 per couple.

Bender Barre at Rock Creek Sports Club 
Head straight to Rock Creek Sports Club in Silver Spring for their one-hour happy hour Bender Barre class, a mix of ballet, strength, yoga, and Pilates. 6:30 PM. Free for non-members.

SATURDAY

Cherry Blossom Yoga on the Mall 
The annual Cherry Blossom Yoga event meets once again at the Washington Monument (Northeast quadrant). Hosted by Lululemon Logan Circle, the event will celebrate local studio Downdog Yoga’s 10th anniversary. 10 AM to noon. Free.

Outdoor Yoga for Runners
Hop off the Metro in Clarendon after your Saturday morning run for outdoor yoga for runners. Instructor Pia Economou will lead the class. 11 AM. Free.

Kickboxing and Boxing at LA Boxing Clarendon
As part of FitDC’s launch, LA Boxing Clarendon will host a kickboxing and boxing class at 11 AM and 1:30 PM, respectively. Free.

CrossFit WOD (Workout of the Day) at Verve Fitness
Here’s your chance to try out CrossFit for free. Verve Fitness in Rosslyn will lead a workout of the day. Be prepared to sweat! Noon. Free.

TRX and Kettlebells Class at Washington Sports Club Clarendon
You can bet you’ll be sore after this class that combines TRX suspension trainers and kettlebell training into one workout. 1 PM. Free.

One Love Charity Ride at ZenGo
There’s just one spot left for this charity ride at ZenGo Fitness for the One Love Foundation, honoring Yeardley Reynolds Love. Snag the last bike by e-mailing owner Marc at marc@zengofitness.com. Missed out on a seat? The studio is still accepting donations. 1 PM.

The Big Stinky Ride with Bicycle Space
Bicycle Space hosts the Big Stinky ride to raise awareness of building the Metropolitan Branch Trail, which will ultimately connect Silver Spring with the National Mall with a 27-mile bikeway path. The ride will pit bikers against one another to conquer the Big Stinky hill, located at the intersection of John McCormack Road and Bates Drive, Northeast. Noon. Donation based.

SUNDAY

Community Class at Yoga Fusion Studio 
Every Sunday Yoga Fusion Studio in Bethesda hosts a donation-based yoga class. This Sunday’s class is gently heated at 85 degrees and asks for students to pay what they can. 11:30 AM. Suggested donation is $10.
