Updated: 7 Places Do Yoga and Drink Wine in Washington This Summer

Because vino makes everything better.

An invigorating yoga session works wonders when it comes to relieving stress. Even better? Adding a glass of wine (or two) to the picture. Mark your calendars this month for the following vinyasa and vino events, starting with two classes this Friday.

Vinyasa & Vino at Past Tense Studio

Kelly DiNardo kicks off a monthly Vinyasa & Vino program this Friday at her Mount Pleasant studio, Past Tense. Following the yoga class, participants are treated to a free wine-tasting with First Vine, a local importer. Friday’s tasting includes two red wines. Can’t make the yoga sesh? No problem—the wine tasting is open to the public, too. Just be sure to bring an ID. $15.

Mimi Rieger leads this “vigorous” vinyasa flow class outdoors on the rooftop of the Vida Penthouse. By 7:45 PM, you’ll be munching organic peaches and goat cheese courtesy of Sweetgreen and sipping wine and Champagne on the pool deck. $20 for members; $25 for nonmembers. Yoga Under the Vines at Lost Creek Winery

Take a personal day and reboot at Lost Creek Winery’s midday yoga event. Inner Power Yoga leads an hourlong class under the pavilion followed by a tasting of Virginia wine, plus cheese and meat platters. $30 to register; $35 for walk-ins.

Yoga & Wine in the Vineyard at Serpent Ridge Vineyards

Think of it as Thursday’s happy hour. The Yoga House hosts another yoga and wine session in Westminster. The 60-minute class is followed by a wine-tasting; each participant will receive a souvenir wine glass. $30 per person. 

Vin, Yin, & Zin at Tranquil Space

This class is open to all levels and moves through a yin-yang fusion flow. After class, enjoy a glass of organic Zinfandel wine. Each participant is encouraged to bring a bottle to share. Class ends at 9 PM. $35 if you register online; $29.75 for members.

Don’t worry—the wine-tasting doesn’t start until after the early morning yoga session and a meditation walk through the vines. That’s when you’ll go on the Barrel Room Tour and meet the assistant winemaker, which is followed by lunch paired with a wine of your choice. $59 per person or $180 for four. (Yoga 4 Life regularly hosts yoga events at local wineries.)

The Yoga House will lead a 60-minute practice followed by a wine-tasting at Elk Run. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mat and, in addition to a plethora of wines, can expect fruit and cheese platters and a complimentary souvenir wineglass to take home. $38.
