5 Fitness Studios That Offer 2-in-1 Workouts

Every year, about this time, our calendars fill up like crazy with holiday preparation, parties, last-minute workout projects, and travel. It’s enough to make even the most dedicated fitness buff feel like sidelining a trip to the gym.

But you don’t have to let a busy schedule derail your workout. And let’s be real: We’re all going to need some help getting through the season of holiday desserts and drinks. Luckily, fitness studios around town offer more calorie-burning bang for your buck in the form of group exercise classes that combine two workouts into one 45- to 60-minute session. YWCA: Piloxing

Offered multiple times throughout the month, Piloxing combines Pilates and boxing—plus some dancing in between. You’ll work your core plus channel your inner badass. Drop-in classes are $9.

CorePower Yoga: Heated Yoga With Weights
Locations in Bethesda, Glover Park, and Georgetown
If hot yoga doesn’t make you sweat enough, try this class, which adds strength-training into the mix with light dumbbells. Burpees and mountain climbers may also make an appearance. Drop-in classes are $20; the first week is free.

Revolve DC: Barre Ride
1025 N. Fillmore St., Arlington
In this hourlong workout, a sweaty session on the bike is followed by a leg-quivering barre class, using your bike’s handlebars to steady you after that 20th squat pulse. Drop-in classes are $18; the first ride is free.

Reformation Fitness: TRX/Kettlebell 
1301 Ninth St., NW
The Shaw boutique fitness studio offers a 55-minute class several times a week that combines strength-training using both TRX suspension trainers and Steelbells. Go from pullups using the TRX to overhead squats while holding Steelbells above your head. Drop-in classes are $18.

Off Road: Cycle Core
905 U St., NW
If you’ve got more time to spare, head to Off Road on U Street for 50 minutes on the bike followed by 25 minutes of ab work that will leave your core sore but sculpted. Also try the double workout Brick, which starts on the bike and ends with a three-mile run through the streets of DC. Drop-in classes are $20.
