District 2 Bar & Grille Suffers a New Year’s Day Fire

A suspected kitchen fire temporarily closes the eatery.

DC firefighters spent several hours of New Year’s Day battling a serious fire at District 2 Bar & Grille. The Upper Northwest eatery, located on a populous dining block with 2 Amys, La Piquette, Cactus Cantina, and others, occurred in the early afternoon and closed many of the surrounding roadways. Fortunately no one was injured, WUSA reports.

The fire, which officials think began in the restaurant’s kitchen, has temporarily closed the establishment. We’ve reached out to the owners and will update accordingly.
