Bocce fans will have a new place to play when Pinea restaurant turns over its Pennsylvania Avenue patio to fun and games this week. The pop-up bocce bar at the W hotel eatery will feature two full-size courts, which can be reserved for matches during the spring and summer from 6:30 to 9:30–any night except Wednesday when the official DC Bocce League takes over.* After sundown, glow-in-the-dark balls are available to keep the games going.

A full outdoor bar will offer specials on Stella and Peroni beers throughout the evening, and players can order dishes like crab croquettes and meatballs sliders from chef Barry Koslow’s menu. Groups can plan ahead and make reservations for the courts through Pinea’s OpenTable, or by calling the restaurant.
