The Liaison’s Revamped Rooftop Pool Bar Opens Thursday

The Liaison Capitol Hill hotel is ready to debut its revamped rooftop pool bar tomorrow, just in time for Memorial Day lounging. Unlike many of DC’s private hotel pools, the space is open to the paying public for dining, drinking, and swimming; day passes are $35—private cabana rentals are also an option—and entrance is free after 5 pm.

In addition to the redesigned poolside lounge and dining areas, guests will find a new menu from Art and Soul chef Douglas Alexander (we like the idea of the “six-cheese toastie,” bathing bod be damned). Some menu items are traditional, like refreshing mules and sangrias, while others are less so—namely the “Liaison Room Key???” item for $129, should you happen to fall in love with the pool, or another pool-goer, and decide to stay (subject to availability). There’s also an extensive lineup of booze and bubbles for bottle service, ranging between $200 and $310.

Also new to the Liaison pool are regular events, which include holistic poolside yoga in the mornings, a “DC Home Grown” series on Wednesdays featuring local chefs and cocktail experts, live music on Thursdays, and Sunday pool parties. Welcome, summer fun.

The Liaison Rooftop Pool. 415 New Jersey Ave., NW. Open for swimming, 8 am to 5 pm; food and beverage, 10 am to 11 pm.
