First Presidential Debate: DC Bars and Restaurants Offering Food and Drink Specials

Wondering where to watch the debate tonight? Here are the DC bars offering specials on food and drinks. (If you know of more bars offering specials, let me know and I’ll update this list.)

Cocktails inspired by the candidates will cost $7 instead of $12.

Inspired by Hillary Clinton, "Unfinished Business" is a smoky and robust combination of bourbon, espresso liquor, sweet vermouth, and Angostura bitters.Inspired by Donald Trump, "The Best Word" is a sweet and herbal mix of Aperol, gin, house-made cherry liquor, and yellow chartreuse.

The Brixton

Happy hour will be extended for the duration of the debate. Burgers will be buy-one-get-one-free as part of a “Two Candidates for the Price of One” special.

Cobalt

Happy hour will continue all night, and long island iced teas will cost $8.

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House

The steakhouse will offer blue and red versions of the VIP, its signature cocktail featuring clementine vodka infused with fresh Hawaiian pineapple.

James Hoban’s Irish Bar & Restaurant

Patrons will be able to snack on free popcorn.

Lincoln

The restaurant will offer $5 “Clinton BBQ Sliders,” $5 “Trump Steak Bites,” and $11 cocktails called “Hillary’s Inbox” and “Trump Tower.”

Nellie’s Sports Bar

The bar will offer $15 buckets of Bud products all night.

Pennsylvania 6 DC

Happy hour will last all night, with $1 oysters, $7 house wines, $1 off beers and $3 off signature cocktails called “bubblies.”

Politics & Prose

An election happy hour will occur at 7 p.m. downstairs. At 9 p.m., patrons can head upstairs to watch the debate and enjoy refreshments from a drink table.

Shaw’s Tavern

520 Florida Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20001

There will be half-priced pizzas and specials on beer and wine.

Stanton & Greene

319 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, Washington DC 20003

The bar’s mixologist will make two special cocktails called “Greatness” and “Progress.” Patrons can choose to watch the debate in either the “blue corner” or the “red corner.”

Sudhouse DC

Happy hour will last all night, with drink specials including $3 beers and food specials including $5 burgers.

Teddy & The Bully Bar

The bar will offer the same debate specials as the affiliated restaurant Lincoln (see above), including $5 sliders, $5 steak bites, and $11 cocktails named after the candidates.

Ventnor Sports Cafe

Customers will be able to compete in debate bingo. Representatives from various breweries will offer prizes and giveaways.
