Sanderling Resort is the home of many event spaces ideal for any wedding. Housing anywhere from 15 to 200 guests, the venues on property are sure to create an amazing backdrop for one of the biggest days of your life.

Reception Sites

The climate-controlled Wedding Pavilion at Sanderling is nestled next to the Currituck Sound, designed for optimal views of the breathtaking sights for up to 200 guests. Whether you’re inside gazing through it’s 270-degree windows or relaxing in the walk out gazebo, you’re sure to have a gorgeous view of our renowned Outer Banks sunsets. Completely customize this space to your liking with some of our favorite rentals like a Driftwood Tree Cake Stand, Lounge furniture, additional fun lighting, or rustic wine barrels for cocktail tables! Looking for a grand entrance? Ask our wedding planners about a boat entrance!

The Event House and Deck, complete with beach access, a private fire pit, and deck with pergola, creates a cozy evening for your guests to enjoy both inside and out. This versatile space offers several options for dining and dancing, inside with your décor or under the stars on its deck. Seal your night with s’mores around the fire pit, games on the lawn, or chat the evening away lounging under the pergola. Our Beer Canoe pairs perfectly with this indoor/outdoor venue, as well as over-sized lawn games like Jenga and Scrabble. Love our Mr. & Mrs. cornhole set on our lawn!

Our Keeper’s Loft is a soft and airy space, perched above the Lifesaving Station for lovely views of the sound. The best space for our smaller, intimate weddings, Keeper’s Loft provides ample space for up to 40 of your closest friends and family to celebrate the occasion. Light shines through the windows, perfectly reflecting the brightness to complement your décor.

Kimball’s Kitchen, our fine dining restaurant on property, is also available as a venue for receptions Sunday and Monday in season and any day November through April. It’s sound-facing wall of floor length windows lets you view our spectacular Outer Banks sunsets over the Currituck Sound from the comfort of your seat. Up to 60 guests can enjoy this elegant space for your reception.

Ceremony Venues

What little girl hasn’t dreamed  of having a wedding on the beach? The Sanderling beach accesses are the perfect place to put your toes in the sand and marry the person of your dreams. With the Atlantic behind you, what backdrop could compare?! Our dreamy oceanside beach ceremonies are always stunning whether you have minimal decor or intricate additions. Make your walk down the aisle a little warmer and a lot more stunning when you marry on the beach.

The Event Lawn at Sanderling Resort is a lovely alternative to a “toes in the sand” ceremony. If you truly love the beach, but not the hassle of the sand, our Event Lawn is a great space. Including a 2-tier observation deck, you have the option to hold your ceremony on the top tier for up to 60 guests, or on the lower lawn if you have more friends and family. This versatile venue can also be your cocktail hour with the addition of live music, lounge furniture, cocktail tables, or umbrellas.
