Six Dog-Friendly Wineries Near DC

A new Virginia regulation bans pets where food and beverages are served. While many wineries permit leashed dogs outside, the welcome mat is out at these.

Room to Run

8 Chains North Winery has a dog park for off-leash play. Three Fox Vineyards has 50 acres for romping off-leash plus a dog- and cat-of-the-month drawing—winning pet owners receive wine discounts and a reserved table amid the vines.

Pet-Friendly Tastings

Both Blue Valley Vineyard and Winery and Granite Heights Winery conduct outdoor tastings, weather permitting, for guests with pets.

Animal Attractions

Maggie Malick Wine Caves hosts dog events such as Puppypalooza (May 20 and 21), a jumping contest. In Maryland, Linganore Winecellars benefit for the Animal Welfare League, K9’s in the Vines (August dates to be announced), includes adoption opportunities.
