The Art League’s first Art on the Vine fundraiser culminates with a wine-tasting party on Friday from 7:30-10:30 PM at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Old Town, featuring 12 wines from regions around the world. Tickets are $55 per person, and each ticket holder will receive a tasting glass, eight tastings, and one full pour as well as hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds benefit The Art League and its educational programs.
Enjoy the splendor of early summer at the Gilded Age Garden Party at the Smithsonian’s Enid A. Haupt Garden and historic Arts and Industries Building. Celebrate the glittering American garden of the late 1800s at 6:30 PM Friday with live music, Instagram-worthy crafts, and food and drink inspired by the era. General admission is $45 and VIP tickets are $75.
Negroni Week runs through Sunday. Bars, restaurants and vendors around the District have pledged to donate a portion of proceeds for every Negroni, Negroni-like cocktail, or Campari-based drink to charity. Check here to see the list of participating establishments.
Urbana hosts “Pride & Shine” Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM, including a bottomless brunch with an omelet station, charcuterie station, pizza, and cocktails including Pride-themed Bellinis. DJ Trayze starts his set at noon, and Roxxxy Andrews from RuPaul’s Drag Race will greet and chat with fans and be available for selfies. A portion of every ticket will go towards The Trevor Project. General admission tickets are $75; VIP tickets are $95. VIP ticket holders will have patio access for front-row viewing of the Pride parade.
After the parade, Denizens Brewing Company in Silver Spring hosts an after-party called Beer Makes Me Gay featuring refreshing brews and erotic juggling. DJ Powers will be spinning from 7 to 11 PM.
Sunday is full of fun options this week. Bastille hosts Neighborhood Patio Party from 3 to 6 PM, with activities like face painting, balloon art, corn hole games, and raffles. Guests are welcome to bring their lawn chairs for the courtyard. Tickets for food and beverages will be available for purchase the day of the event and cost $1 per ticket. The menu includes chorizo sliders, kefta chicken skewers; smoked duck sausage; hot dogs; Merguez sandwiches; jumbo shrimp and veggie kabobs, and much more. The first 100 guests will receive a Bastille souvenir cup.
Toki Underground is partnering with Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken for a one-day-only collaboration at the H Street ramen shop from 11 AM to 2 PM. The special menu will feature dishes like a black-sesame-glazed doughnut, scallion biscuits and tonkotsu pork with Kimchi cream cheese, and a Toki Monster doughnut, made with a bourbon and angostura glaze with cured and spiced bacon bits. The menu is available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Pride-revelers can keep the party going Sunday at the Embassy Row Hotel’s Drag Queen Pool Party in Dupont Circle. A DJ will be spinning at the hotel’s Rooftop bar from 6 to 9 PM, with proceeds going to benefit the Human Rights Campaign. Day passes can be purchased for $30 starting at 3 PM.
