Join us this morning at 11 AM to chat with Ann Limpert. Have questions about the national food media’s Maydan obsession? The continued crumbling of the Mike Isabella empire? Or maybe you just need a dinner recommendation. Leave a question below, and Ann will get to as many as she can.
Ann: Hey there chatters—I hope you’ve had great weeks. I’m looking forward to spending the next hour taking your questions.
First though, a little report on Blue Duck Tavern’s refreshed menu, courtesy of Mike Isabella Concepts alum Adam Howard. I loved the smoked-beet salad, the refreshing baby gem lettuce with ramp/pecorino dressing (kind of tasted like a refined Caesar), and especially the reuben sandwich, a dish that’s been on BDT’s menu for awhile, but has never tasted as good as the one there now. The only thing that wasn’t for me: the DIY lobster rolls—the parker house-like rolls were kind of stiff, and the lobster was a little overbuttered and overgarlicked for my taste. Plus, 38 bucks for a half lobster (hollowed out and filled with chopped claw and knuckle meat)! Also, there was one of the more bizarro desserts I’ve had lately: a strawberry parfait with…bubblegum foam and cubes of funfetti cake. Still, i’m excited to get back and try the dinner menu.
Onto your questions! Ask them below; the chat transcript shows up underneath.
