February 8, 2019: Chat With Food Critic Ann Limpert

Leave a question for Ann, and she'll get to as many as possible this morning.

Join us today at 11 AM to chat with Ann Limpert. Have questions about our brand new 100 Best Restaurants list? What to do for Valentine’s Day? Or maybe you just need a dinner recommendation. Leave a question below, and Ann will get to as many as she can.

Ann: Good morning! Hope you have all had great weeks. A bit of cool food news: If you have been in DC for decades (or grew up here, like me), you probably remember Germaine’s, the Georgetown restaurant that was one of DC’s first high-end Asian hotspots, with a clientele that would rival the ones at Fiola Mare or Cafe Milano (everyone from Walter Mondale to Nora Ephron to Mick Jagger showed up). Restaurateur Germaine Swanson—who, fun fact, taught Julia Child to make Peking duck—has long been retired from the business. But soon, the Saigon native will make her chicken pho at Haute Dogs and Fries, the great little hot dog shop in Old Town which is owned by Swanson’s relatives.  They’ll begin serving it by the end of next week, and I can’t wait to try it—and grab a banh mi hot dog there, too.

Alright, onto your questions. Ask them in the form below; the chat transcript shows up underneath. What’s on your mind today?
