It’s been a big year for pizza. For our current issue, I checked out a ton of the new offerings, and narrowed them down to my five ranked favorites. What I didn’t get to in time, though, was Della Barba, a delivery-only one-man-show out of Union Kitchen. It’s old school—you have to call! (He also does curbside pickup at the Ivy City facility). Anyway, even after my steady diet of pizza, I can’t stop thinking about his Detroit pie, with cheese baked right into the rectangle crust, then striped with red sauce. His New York-style offering is really good, too.
