Leave a question now for Ann, and she'll get to as many as possible this morning.

Join us today at 11 AM to chat with Washingtonian food critic Ann Limpert. Have a question about the latest DC restaurant closure? Looking for last minute Thanksgiving plans? Or maybe you just need a dinner recommendation. Leave a question now, and Ann will get to as many as she can.

Ann: Good morning! Thanks for joining me on this gloomy but fine day.

The fried chicken sandwich wars continue, and there’s a new contender on the scene: the piled-high bun at the new LaoWich, Seng Luangrath’s and Nyi Nyi Myint’s pop-up at Taste of Urbanspace in Tysons Galleria. The extra-crispy bird is brined in buttermilk then dipped in a batter spiked with peppercorns. It’s heaped with herbs, thinly sliced cucumbers, onions, and peppers, and finished off with a slather of tangy tofu/fermented-soy sauce. Get one while you can—the stand is only operating until the end of December.

It’s almost, almost enough to get me through the news that Philly Wing Fry is closing. IN LESS THAN A WEEK. Head there stat for the ribeye cheesesteak, one of the absolute best sandwiches in town, and the amazing berbere-spiced waffle fries. I’m glad I did this week (who’d have thunk Kwame himself would be behind the counter?).

In a perfect world, both sandwich shops would live on indefinitely.

Onto your questions! Ask them in the form below; the chat transcript shows up underneath.Â
