That’s right, the DC-based professional Overwatch team, Washington Justice is hosting five weekends of global esports competition. These homestand weekends will feature immersive venues with festival-like atmospheres, such as live performances by DJ Kool, and other exclusive entertainment, for an experience unlike any other. Goldenboy is also scheduled to host the first homestand. What is the Overwatch League and Washington Justice?

The Overwatch League is the first global professional esports league with city-based teams, such as Washington Justice, with teams in Asia, Europe, and North America. Founded in 2018, Washington Justice is an expansion team in the league of twenty total teams, and represents the entire DMV region—from Baltimore to Richmond. Fans of Washington Justice can sport the team’s patriotic red, white, and blue uniform that also features a shield logo to symbolize unity. 

Where and when do the homestands take place?

The Anthem and Entertainment and Sports Arena are the two venues that will host the five weekend-long homestand events. Not only is it the most homestands any team in the league is hosting, but it’s also the first time that Washingtonians will be able to attend a major global esports competition live in their area! Below are the five weekends to check out:

  • February 22-23 at The Anthem
  • March 7-8 at The Anthem
  • April 4-5 at The Anthem
  • May 30-31 at Entertainment and Sports Arena
  • June 20-21 at Entertainment and Sports Arena 

What should attendees expect at the events?

The homestand weekends will be jammed packed with pre and post-game entertainment while also celebrating Washington Justice’s Inaugural homecoming to the District. Attendees will witness global elite Overwatch teams, such as the London Spitfire and Paris Eternal, battle it out to become Stage Champions and to eventually compete to win the Grand Finals. It’s a historic moment for esports that avid fans won’t want to miss out!

How much are tickets?

Single day tickets start at $40, plus fees and taxes, for a full day of thrilling matches and entertainment. For those who want a full weekend of esports entertainment, tickets start at $70, plus fees and taxes.
