Worthy Mentoring in partnership with Nora Lee by Brandt Ricca, Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC and Capital Pride Alliance, is raising a bottomless glass to Pride during a show-stopping, gourmet brunch for a good cause. This year’s Pride Brunch features beats by the city’s preeminent DJs, drag performances by iconic entertainers, and inspired LGBTQ+ activism – all under a true rainbow of colors.
Hosted by professional singer/song-writer and RuPaul’s Drag Race star, Jujubee, guests are guaranteed a spirited and electric afternoon full of pride! Drag performers and entertainers joining the stage will be K.C. B’Yoncé, King Molasses, Blaq Dinamyte, Lula Lioness and Mia Vanderbilt. DJ Alex Love and DJ Tanner will also be providing the beats and energy to get the crowd on their feet! The brunch will have pop up performances by Perfekt Blend Band and Bourbon Street styled cocktails from local LGBTQ+ bar the Dirty Goose. Not to be overlooked, an iconic Mardi Gras vibe will be elegantly displayed throughout the event thanks to Creations by Brenda. The brunch will be a true Pride at the Mardi Gras celebration!
This year, Worthy Mentoring is honored to announce that Dr. Anthony Fauci will be recognized at the event with the inaugural Worthy Mentor Award for his career dedication to the LGBTQ+ community, including his leadership in research, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS.
“I am honored to receive the inaugural Worthy Mentor award and bring awareness to ways we all can uplift and empower the diverse LGBTQ+ community,” Dr. Anthony Fauci said.
The 2023 Pride Brunch will benefit Worthy Mentoring, a non-profit empowering the LGBTQ+ community in coming out and being out. Worthy Mentoring connects LGBTQ+ mentees with vetted, verified, and trained mentors – all through a free mobile iOS and Android App. Worthy Mentors offer support with topics such as coming out, understanding LGBTQ+ health and wellness, and navigating the workplace as a queer person, just to name a few.
“It’s great to see how this event has grown annually and been able to highlight the LGBTQ+ community in a positive, enriching and fun way,” says Brandt Ricca, owner of marketing agency Nora Lee.
The brunch will take place on Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm. Attendees will enjoy bottomless bubbles, Mardi Gras inspired spirits, and traditional New Orleans brunch cuisine – all while celebrating the incredible worth of each and every person present. Post brunch, guests can shake off those beignets at the tea dance from 1:30-3:00 pm to mixes by our DJs in the atrium across the hall. Tickets for the brunch begin at $150 with multiple packages available offering special VIP access to the LGBTQ+ community’s biggest stars.
“I am thrilled with how this event has grown over the years,” says Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC General Manager and Regional Vice President Marc Bromley. “Celebrating inclusivity and diversity is incredibly important for our community and also our employees.”
“We are so proud to partner with Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC to highlight our mission in better supporting and uplifting the diverse LGBTQ+ community,” says Michael Edmonson, Jr. Co-Founder and CEO of Worthy Mentoring. “We’ve created the free Worthy Mentoring App so that all individuals within our community who are struggling to find their place and identity never again have to go through that journey alone. No matter your gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, profession, etc., Worthy Mentoring is committed to being a safe platform that empowers each and every diverse member of the LGBTQ+ community to understand, accept, and love who they are.”
Space is limited and tickets won’t be available for long. Reservations for Pride Brunch can be made by visiting Worthy Mentoring Events or by calling Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC at 202-342-0444.
