Following his address to a joint session of Congress, Pope Francis‘s black Fiat took the pontiff to Chinatown, where he met with clients of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington and blessed a meal for more than 200 homeless and needy DC residents.

The pope was swarmed by a sea of people after the blessing, Washingtonian photographer Andrew Propp reports. Francis’s bodyguards led him out of the church and then whisked him back to the Apostolic Nunciature near the Naval Observatory.
