Best of 2004: Jennifer Ludden

All Things Considered, she's doing just fine.

Radio Days. Before she had her second baby, National Public Radio's Jennifer Ludden spent years reporting on conflicts and human-interest stories all over the world, picking up awards like souvenirs. What story stands out above the others? "Zaire," says Ludden, 38, who's currently hosting Weekend All Things Considered. "Unlike the Middle East, with 300 reporters covering the same story, I knew that if I was not present in a particular village in Africa, the story wouldn't get told." Count on Ludden to have lots more stories to tell.
