February in Washington

Food, wine, and fashion all hit Washington in February. Read on for what to do all month long.

February 6 and 7: Chocolate Lovers Festival
Get a sugar rush at this event featuring chocolate tastings, a chocolate art exhibit, children’s activities, a craft show, and more. Some of the events have a fee. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Independence Day Celebration Committee, which plans Fairfax City’s July Fourth festivities.

February 11 through 15: Washington Boat Show

Get a head start on summer by perusing a selection of family boats, motor yachts, fishing boats, and more. The expo is held at the Washington Convention Center. Adult admission $10, children ages 6 to 12 $5, under 5 free.

February 13 and 14: International Wine & Food Festival

More than 600 wineries from around the world will participate in this year’s festival at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. Sample wines, attend a wine seminar, and more. Tickets are $85 to $150.

February 14: George Washington’s Birthnight Banquet & Ball
Head to Alexandria’s Gadsby’s Tavern Museum for the annual celebration of George Washington’s birthday. Enjoy food, drinks, dancing, and historical reenactments. Guests are invited to wear period costumes, though they’re not required. Tickets are $100 to the dinner and ball and $50 to the ball only.

February 15 through 21: DC Fashion Week
Washington goes glam for its annual fashion week. Enjoy a networking party and trunk show and see an array of couture collections at locations throughout the city. Tickets are required for some events. Go here for more information.

February 26 and 27: Dance Bethesda
This year’s dance festival includes free dance lessons at Bethesda studios, a free dance party, and a performance by six area dance companies at Round House Theatre. Tickets for the performance are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 13. For more information, click here.
