Known for their spontaneous cover songs, Yo La Tengo and William Tyler are at the 9:30 Club. 8 PM; buy tickets ($20) at TicketFly. Another end-of-the week concert is the Sights and the Blackberry Belles at the Red Palace. 8:30; get tickets for $8 at Ticket Alternative or for $10 at the door.

The National Players is the longest-running touring theater company in America. Based out of the Olney Theatre Center, the group is coming home for the weekend with two performances from its current season. Tonight, see The Scarlet Letter; on Saturday, the company changes is presenting A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Both start at 7:30 and are pay-what-you-can.

Dance to the sounds of hip-hop, jungle music, and more with DJ Blaow at Jimmy Valentine’s Lonely Hearts Club. As an added incentive, PBR tallboys are $1 at 8 PM and go up $1 every hour until midnight. No cover.
