Monday, August 3

Free-burger alert! Today is President Obama’s 48th birthday, and Tenleytown’s Z-burger (4321 Wisconsin Ave., NW) is celebrating in a big way. Starting at 10:30, the first 48 customers will be awarded gift certificates for 48 burgers and 48 milkshakes throughout the year. If you can’t skip work to wait in line, go for lunch—the restaurant will dole out free burgers for all between 11 and 2, and a 100-square-foot cake has been ordered for the occasion.
