Restaurant 3 is working to fight breast cancer one four-course dinner at a time. In support of the Cook for the Cure program, the restaurant will donate $25 toward breast-cancer research for every four-course meal served tonight. Executive chef Brian Robinson’s pink-themed menu includes a choice of Hawaiian pink snapper, New York strip with a pink-peppercorn crust, or Cornish game hen. For dessert, strawberry ice cream will be paired with chocolate-dipped strawberries and a shortbread cookie. Mixologist Ria Freydberg has created two pink cocktails for the occasion: Boozin’ for Boobies, featuring Absolut Citron, lavender simple syrup, and fresh grapefruit juice, and the Strawberry Sparkler, with strawberry-lemongrass purée and sparkling wine. Customers will also receive a KitchenAid plate, which automatically donates $5 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation every time it’s registered online. Need help finding good tea? Great Falls Tea Garden hosts a tea-tasting seminar on Chinese green, white, and oolong teas at Cathy’s Corner. The tasting starts at 10 AM and costs $20 per person. Every participant will also go home with a tea sampler. For reservations, call 703-757-6209.

Washington Women and Wine is celebrating its ninth anniversary with a gala dinner at the Willard InterContinental Hotel at 7 PM. Chef Nicolas Legret’s menu will be paired with French wines selected by sommelier Caterina Abbruzzetti. Former Washington Post food critic Phyllis Richman will be honored at the event. Celebrate the 20th anniversary of Virginia Wine Month at the Hotel Palomar Arlington with A Taste of Virginia’s Own. From 6 to 9, indulge in hors d’oeuvres and a selection of 20 wines from some of the state’s most acclaimed winemakers, including Chrysalis, Delfosse, Jefferson Vineyards, Rappahannock, Virginia Wineworks, and White Hall. The event takes place in the hotel’s living room and costs $20—proceeds will benefit the Northern Virginia AIDS Ministry. The Smithsonian Resident Associate Program presents an evening with celebrated chef, cookbook author, and television personality Jacques Pépin at 7 in the Natural History Museum’s Baird Auditorium. Pépin will be interviewed by Joe Yonan, editor of the Post’s Food section, about his culinary career and new PBS series, More Fast Food My Way. After the discussion, Pépin will be on hand to sign copies of the companion book. The Junior League of Washington presents Eat and Drink for Pink! An evening for Breast Cancer Awareness. Bryan Forsgren of Potomac Selections and the Cork staff will present seven Rieslings from Rudi Wiest Selections, including Schäfer-Fröhlich Estate Riesling Kabinett 2007 and Monchoff Erdener Pralat Riesling Auslese 2006.
