On the first floor of the Hotel Monaco, Poste once housed the sorting room of the General Post Office. The renovated space has been transformed into a mod bar and restaurant with an open kitchen, 16-foot ceilings, and large, slanted mirrors. The outdoor courtyard—a dramatic space surrounded by limestone walls—is one of the best spots in DC for a drink. On weekdays from 4 to 7, a stylish after-work crowd cozies up to the bar for drink specials and half-price truffled French fries.
