One Simple Way to Get a Cleaner Stroller

Mom Camie Gontier created Choopie stroller accessories for that very reason.

I have to imagine that as a mom there’s nothing better than when a problem solves itself –especially before you even know it’s there. So meet Choopie, a line of stroller accessories that will have you thinking, “Why didn’t I think of that?”

The idea for Choopie was born when mom Camie Gontier was out for a jog with her baby. Pushing the stroller in the hot summer sun, she found her stroller handle sticky and dirty (and herself totally grossed out). Camie scoured the market for a stroller handle cover, and when she couldn’t find anything both stylish and practical, she made her own.

While the need was obvious to Camie and her sweaty palms, moms may not even realize what a beating their handle takes throughout the course of the day. According to a Hygiene Council study, six percent of stroller handles worldwide are “heavily contaminated” by bacteria and germs. Yikes.

CityGrips, available through e-tailer Choopie, are washable, comfortable (think a squishy mouse pad), and Velcro right onto your stroller handle. Best of all, they come in different sizes and patterns to match your personal preferences—and have been sported by celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, Bethenny Frankel, and Pink.

Aside from CityGrips, Choopie also makes CityHook, a hook that latches onto your stroller to carry bags and free up your hands, and a diaper bag called Soho CityBag, launching this September.

CityGrips cost between $12.95 and $24.95 and are available at Choopie.com
