Best of 2004: Holiday Treats

Jolly holiday goodies abound at Cafe Mozart German Deli.

A trove of imported gifts for food lovers can be found at Café Mozart German Deli (1331 H St., NW; 202-347-5732). There's a staggering assortment of chocolates; teas, jams, and honey; baking and cooking supplies; and, of course, German meat, sausage, and cheese.

Each Christmas, owner Hilde Fehr assembles a wonderful collection of seasonally wrapped candies and gift items, from beer steins to Christmas-tree candles to gingerbread people. After shopping, you can choose from a dozen wursts–and other dishes–at Café Mozart restaurant.
