Fitness routine: "I run 30 to 35 miles a week and have been an avid runner since I had my heart attack 13 years ago. My favorite place to run is Rock Creek Park."
Running partners: "A water pack that straps around my waist and my iPod, which has a mix of hip-hop, old-school R&B, and rock. On weekends, I sometimes run with my wife."
What he eats: "Breakfast is a must and consists of coffee, turkey bacon, and oatmeal. I'll treat myself to pancakes at Parkway Deli in Silver Spring when eating out. Lunch and dinner are never big meals."
Result: "I weigh 183. That was my weight in college!"

Keeping fit: "I do a good deal of gymnastics conditioning–things like push-ups, sit-ups–and also Pilates and yoga."
When she still doesgymnastics: During private lessons she gives at Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex.
Workout attire: "I love Juicy sweatsuits for both in and out of the gym."
Walking companions: Her Shih Tzus and two-pound ankle weights.
Her weakness: "Starbucks cafe mochas–I have one every day."
LINDA RAHAL, ATTORNEY, TROW & RAHAL
Ironwoman: "I train for triathlons. I also do weights and go to Bikram Yoga in Tenleytown. This is the 'hot' yoga where the room is heated to over 100 degrees."
Sticking with it: "It helps to have someone you meet for workouts–my friend and I go on morning bike rides at least twice a week."
Winter workout: "For cold weather, I have an indoor trainer for my bike that I bought at Tri-nergy in Sterling and a cycling DVD called Spinervals."
What she eats: "I eat what I want, in moderation. If I crave something sweet, I'll turn to Ben & Jerry's ice cream, sometimes putting a scoop in my after-exercise protein shake."
PAUL LUNA, CHEF, THE OVAL ROOM
Staying in shape: "I do yoga four times a week, and I cycle on my day off."
His goal: "Since I'm new to the area, I learn my way around by cycling all over. "
Favorite bike: "Bianchi, an Italian high-performance-bicycle manufacturer."
What he eats: "Generally, I stick to a Mediterranean diet–lots of fish, vegetables, nuts, olives. But I love pasta and potatoes; I eat them every day, just in moderation."

Fitness routine: "I'm on my treadmill every morning for an hour, and I use free weights. Exercise helped me lose about 20 pounds, and I feel so much better."
Can't exercise without: "A television–watching makes the workout go faster."
Indulgence: "The Four Seasons Hotel in Georgetown every week or two–I do my workout there and get amassage."
Diet: "A banana and freshly squeezed orange juice after exercise, skim lattes from Starbucks, grapes, skinless chicken, tuna, tomatoes, and salads. I knock in a low-fat muffin once in a while."
Blows his diet for: A steak at the Palm.

Training: "I've been a runner more than 40 years. My first marathon was in 1963."
Latest achievement: The 2005 Ultraman race–a three-day competition in Hawaii that included a six-mile ocean swim, over 260 miles of bike riding, and a double marathon.
His ride: "A Cannondale Ironman bike. Revolution Cycles in Arlington has good mechanics and equipment."
On his feet: "Nike and Reebok from Fleet Feet in Adams Morgan."
Why he exercises: "The only way to deal with the stress of trials is by a lot of exercise."
TOM DOLAN, GOLD-MEDAL SWIMMER
In the gym: "I play basketball at the Georgetown University gym–you don't have to be a student to join–and I go to Washington Golf & Country Club for the elliptical machine and treadmill."
Must-haves: "Nike Dri-Fit workout clothes. And I won't go to the gym without my iPod."
Snack: "I'm a big fan of yogurt peanut Balance Bars."
Resolution: "It's a tough transition when you're used to working out for a living. When I retired, I went from doing my sport year-round to doing nothing. This year, I'm making a workout schedule and keepingto it."
KAY KENDALL, BOARD PRESIDENT, WASHINGTON BALLET
Personal trainer: "Colin Shah at SomaFit is very patient with me in my attempts to build and maintain a bit of muscle."
Favorite classes: "Studio Infinity's Gyrotonic exercise is terrific for flexibility and strength."

Exercise regimen: "I compete in triathlons, so I swim, bike, and run. I belong to a Masters swim program at American University that's run by the famous Curl-Burke Swim Club."
Motivation: "Putting competitions or benchmark exercise days on the calendar so I have a challenge to look forward to."
Fall-off-the-fitness-routine splurge: "Good beer."
Where he shops: "In Rockville, Performance Bicycle is great for bike accessories. Aardvark, which is in Rockville and Chantilly, is the only place to go for swimming/triathlon gear."
KATHY MARTIN, MANAGER. HYSTERIA BOUTIQUE
Favorite gym: "I've belonged to the YMCA in Alexandria since 1998. The atmosphere is friendly, and there are people of all ages and fitness levels, so it's never intimidating. Kent Dodd is my trainer for strength training, and I take a boxing class with Terrell Jeffries. Besides that, my favorite things to do are hike or run."
Why she exercises: "Health and shopping–I love clothes, so I want to fit in pretty much whatever."
Skipping the machines: "A new favorite is my jump rope. My boxing coach is teaching me all sorts of 'footwork,' and it's easy to pack whenever I travel."
Guilty pleasure: Margaritas from Taqueria Poblano in Del Ray.
Fitness fashion: "I'm very excited about Stella McCartney's line for Adidas, and I adore L.A.M.B. sweatsuits, too."
