For whatever reason, this week seems short on tickets going on sale. Shrug. That's just the way it rolls, sometimes. But one of the events that's going on sale is a doozy—it's the Virgin Festival, taking place August 4 and 5 at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. With huge acts on the lineup like a reunited Smashing Pumpkins, a reunited Police, and much more, do you really even need to buy any other tickets this week? The Virgin Festival general admission two day pass will run you $175, and goes on sale to the public this Saturday, May 5 at 10am. UPDATE: Duh. Of course Bjork and the Killers are not playing the Virgin Festival—those slipped in from another bit I was working on (or a happy spot in my mind where all those bands were together in my backyard, perhaps?), and I apologize for the error. You can see the full lineup here.
One other ticket sale I noted—the Fiery Furnaces will be playing the Black Cat on Thursday, July 5, and tickets for that concert are on sale Friday, May 4. $15.
