Always wanted to check out a theater performance but never followed through? Love to see plays but can’t afford tickets? Now is your chance. Take advantage of the Free Night of Theater event, which launches in 120 cities, including Washington, on October 16.
Theatre Communications Group began the Free Night of Theater in 2005 to invite new audiences to enjoy live theater. In its first year, 10,000 tickets were reserved for the program, and this year up to 75,000 will be available across the country, according to the group’s Web site.Take a peek at some performances:

Fall[en] Angels invites theatergoers to enjoy “art-song and cabaret staged as dance-theater,” a collaboration between the In Series and the Washington Ballet Studio Company at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. The In Series blends several forms of live performances by local artists.
