The Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) announced yesterday that Barack Obama will host the Commander-in-Chief inaugural ball. The event, which honors active duty and reserve military, first cropped up on the inaugural circuit in 2005, when President George W. Bush hosted it.
This year's soirée will be held on January 20 at the National Building Museum, the same venue Bush chose four years ago. The event is invitation only, and tickets for invited guests—which will include wounded soldiers, families of deceased soldiers, and spouses of deployed military—will be provided free of charge.
