Things to Do

Where & When: This Week in Washington Nightlife

What to do every night of this week for fun.

Monday: Rock to Warm You Up
It's a cold February night, but if you head out to the Rock and Roll Hotel tonight, you'll get warmed up in a jiffy. That's because two bands who play incredibly catchy pop rock are hitting the stage. Mother Mother, a Canadian group with pitch-perfect harmonies and synth-rock tendencies, are opening for the Sam Roberts Band, who play folk-inflected guitar hooks. 8:30 PM; $12.

Tuesday: Mardi Gras Fun
If beads are your thing, Cafe Citron is offering a $200 cash prize for the most extreme Mardi Gras costume as part of its Fat Tuesday celebration. Happy hour specials from 4 to 7 feature $5 mojitos, margaritas, rum, and rum lemonades. Bacardi models will be giving out free drink samples between 7 and 9, and hurricanes and vodka cocktails will be $5 all night. Get more Mardi Gras celebrations in our guide.

Wednesday: Local Beer at the Brickskeller
Local brewery Flying Dog Brewery will be offering up a "strong ale tasting" tonight, with lots of winter beer tastings available. 6 PM, $35; buy your tickets here.

Thursday: Chat With Four Great Bartenders
Today at 11,  join four notable local bartenders featured in the March issue of The Washingtonian for a discussion about the spirits du jour, the history of cocktails, the craft and technique behind a well-made drink, and more. Submit your questions now!
