Top Chef DC, an environmental film, and a Smithsonian bash are on the docket

Head to the Letelier Theater in Georgetown to catch Driving Climate Change, a documentary that explores how ordinary people are taking a stand against global warming. Directed by Brian Hill and narrated by actress Tilda Swinton, the film looks at community leaders in India, Africa, Papa New Guinea, London, and Appalachia and the projects they’ve undertaken to benefit their local environments. The screening is followed by a wine reception with catering by Sweetgreen. RSVPs are required; e-mail chris@envirofilmfest.org to reserve your seat. $20. 6:30.

The Smithsonian Young Benefactors organization turns 21 tonight and is celebrating with a birthday bash at the Embassy of Finland. Enjoy a cocktail reception with light hors d’oeuvres and birthday cupcakes while taking in a private viewing of the exhibition “Eero Saarinen & Washington: A Reputation for Innovation.” Click here to reserve tickets ($40 for YB members, $45 general admission); online sales only, no tickets at the door. 6:30 to 8:30.
