A Travel Channel taping, a lobster bake, and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival round out the week in food events.

Monday, June 28
Love summer wines? Head to Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda to sample up to 25 French pours. Chef Andrew Flesichauer provides hors d’oeuvres to nosh on while you sip and mingle. The event, $25 per person, starts at 6. Call 301-654-1234 to RSVP.

Tuesday, June 29
Lovers of pork and the Travel Channel find common ground at 3 Bar & Grill, which is hosting the network for a special episode of Food Paradise featuring bacon. In celebration, the restaurant is holding a pig roast with free pulled-pork sandwiches starting at 5. Also available is a three-course bacon-infused menu for $30.

Wednesday, June 30
Get a taste of New England at Zola Wine & Kitchen’s lobster-bake class. Learn to use burlap, seaweed, and wine to cook lobsters, clams, rockfish, mussels, periwinkles, sausage, and more. The class, which is $90, includes one glass of wine. Register online here. 6:30.

Thursday, July 1, through Monday, July 5
The Smithsonian’s annual Folklife Festival continues this week on the Mall. Learn about food and drink from Mexican and Asian cultures in La Cocina and the Teahouse. Check out the map of festival stations here. Workshops, tastings, and cooking demos showcase dishes from Mayan, Indonesian, Burmese, Sikh, Indian, Chinese, and other cultures. Friday, July 2
Italian chef Roberto Donna hosts a five-course cooking class using Rome as his inspiration. The class, which is $160 and starts at 7, includes an apron, a recipe book, and dinner with wine. For reservations and more information—including the location—call 202-257-0168.

Saturday, July 3
As part of its summer concert series, Tarara Winery (13648 Tarara La., Leesburg) hosts the Freddie Long Band—an upbeat indie group from Frederick—on its lawn.
