The National Theatre is hosting a Cary Grant retrospective this summer, showing some of the actor’s best films from the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s. Playing this week is His Girl Friday, where Grant plays a jealous newspaper editor who’ll do anything to keep his reporter ex-wife from settling down with another man. Friday, July 23
The versatile ’80s cover band the Reagan Years performs some of the era’s greatest hits as part of Herndon’s Friday Night Live concert series at the Herndon Town Green. 6:30.
Saturday, July 24
A funny and deeply unnerving look at the Cold War era, Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb plays at the American City Diner at 8:30.
Sunday, July 25
Finish the weekend off with “Margaritaville” as the Jimmy Buffet tribute band Sons of Pirates performs as part of the Celebrate Frederick festival at Baker Park at 7.
