Where & When: What to Do Tonight

Inner and outer makeovers, and Washingtonian's Best Of party

In the mood for stories about spiritual redemption? Rockville Town Square Plaza's movie festival screens The Blind Side tonight. Sandra Bullock's performance as a wealthy white woman who pushes her family to adopt a neglected African-American boy and helps turn him into a football star won her an Academy Award for best performance by an actress. Free, 8:45.

If you're looking to get closer to that true story, or at least the movie production behind it, Blind Side star Quinton Aaron is anchoring Children Uniting Nations' 2010 lobby day on the Hill and tonight's gala at the JW Marriott Hotel. Donations encouraged for the dinner. 7pm.

And if your heart's right but your body could use some pampering, head to the Shops at Georgetown for skin treatments, and tips on how to master fall's hottest makeup looks so you'll be prepared for a day when it's not so hot that you have to worry about melting and reapplication. Free, but RSVPs required. 5:30.

Finally, if you're one of the lucky folks who has a ticket to our Best Of party tonight, get your appetite ready! The list of participating restaurants is mouthwatering, so we hope you skipped lunch. National Building Museum, 7pm.
