Where & When: What to Do Tonight

Artists in Dupont Circle, sports on U Street, and vampires in Rockville

The Foundry Gallery hosts “Dupont Circle Senses,” a show that focuses on that DC neighborhood. Works show longtime residents, tourists, and historic architecture. Dwight Young, who recently retired from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, selected the pieces. At the opening reception, the gallery is raffling off dinner for two at Luna Grill & Diner, jewelry from Beadazzled, and a gift certificate from Blondie’s salon. 6 PM.

Nellie’s Sports Bar has a great draw for Washington sports fans: a chance to get your hands on memorabilia from local teams. Up for auction: a bat signed by Nationals manager Jim Riggleman, a Bowman rookie card of Stephen Strasburg, four signed photos from Capitals players, a signed photo of Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan, and a D.C. United 2010 premium game package. Proceeds benefit Hands on DC, a volunteer organization that works to improve DC’s public schools. Nellie’s will donate $2 from every house beer to the group. 6 PM.

Come out for this summer’s last Rockville Movie on the Square night. But this time you might want to come equipped with stakes and silver bullets, or at least a tolerance for tween girls, because the feature is the Twilight-franchise entry New Moon. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and find a spot in Rockville Town Square. 8:30.
